BEAUTY OF NATURE

By: Garvit Mehra

Nature is the most important and integral part of everyone’s lives. Everyone has been blessed with the true love of God in the form of beautiful nature. We should never miss the pleasure of enjoying nature. It has been the subject of various amazing work by famous poets, writers, painters and artists. Nature is everything which surrounds us like water, air, land, sky, fire, river, forests, animals, birds, plants, sun, moon, stars, sea, lake, rain, thunder, storm, and so much more. Nature is very colorful and has both living and non-living things in its lap.

It has its many forms which change season to season and even from minute to minute. The sea looks bright blue in the morning but by noon it looks emerald green. The sky changes its colour all through the day from pale pink at sunrise, dazzling blue in late morning, bright orange in the evening at sunset and purple by twilight. Our mood also changes according to nature. It is happy and hopeful with sunshine, rainy season and spring season. It is serene and calm in moonlight and a little lethargic in high sunlight.

Nature has strong transformative power that changes our mood and behavior. It even has the power to help patients recover from diseases. Nature is very essential for our healthy life so we should keep it clean and conserve it for our future generations. We should be fully aware of nature and try our best to keep it natural so that it can nourish life on the earth forever.

This beauty allows us to choose places and many destinations for the sake of rest, recreation and wonderful memories. The beauty of nature has always been the first inspiration for artists and creators around the world and this is evidenced by the vast number of works of art, poetry and music that have attracted people around the world, and which revolve around the beauty and charm of nature.

NOT DESTROYING IT

We should not destroy the originality of nature and should not imbalance the ecosystem cycle. Our nature provides a beautiful environment to live and enjoy and it is our responsibility to keep it clean and damage-free. In the modern era, the selfish activities of human beings have disturbed nature to a great extent. But we all should try to maintain our nature’s beauty.

It is then no surprise that the World Economic Forum’s Global Risks Report 2020 ranked biodiversity loss as one of the top five risks in terms of impact and likelihood over the coming decade. For the first time in planetary history, humans are the driver of climate and environmental change or what is being called by the scientists as the Anthropocene.

KILLING DEPRESSION

A simple way to help reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, and maybe even improve your memory? Take a walk in the woods.

There are many studies that show that time spent outdoors can:

  • improve stress levels

  • alleviate or lessen symptoms of depression

  • reduce anxiety

  • lower blood pressure, heart rate, muscle tension

  • lower production of stress hormones such as cortisol.

A lack of exposure to natural surroundings, or ‘nature deprivation’, is seen as a cause behind the marked increase of many modern illnesses, including depression symptoms, anxiety attacks and behavioural problems in children. According to many researchers, it’s no coincidence that disconnection from nature has grown dramatically, as have mental disorders such as depression. In fact, city dwellers have a 20 percent higher risk of anxiety disorders and a 40 percent higher risk of mood disorders when compared to people living closer to nature. Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine, recognised this when he coined the phrase: “Nature cures—not the physician.”

Conservation of Nature

In order to conserve nature, we must take drastic steps right away to prevent any further damage. The most important step is to prevent deforestation at all levels. Cutting down of trees has serious consequences in different spheres. It can cause soil erosion easily and also bring a decline in rainfall on a major level.

Polluting ocean water must be strictly prohibited by all industries straightaway as it causes a lot of water shortage. The excessive use of automobiles, AC’s and ovens emit a lot of chlorofluorocarbons that deplete the ozone layer. This, in turn, causes global warming which causes thermal expansion and melting of glaciers. Therefore, we should avoid personal use of vehicles when we can and switch to public transport and carpooling. We must invest in solar energy and give natural resources the chance to replenish.

In conclusion, nature has a powerful transformative power which is responsible for the functioning of life on earth. It is essential for mankind to flourish so it is our duty to conserve it for our future generations. We must stop the selfish activities and try our best to preserve the natural resources so life can forever be nourished on earth.
