People come and ask you about your profession. One can be an actor, a doctor, a singer, a dancer, an engineer, and whatnot, but can one be an anchor?
Today in this modern society, everyone is getting the attention they deserve, everyone is getting the respect they deserve and, in this race, the turtles are the anchors. Today let us talk about these groups of people and let us put the spotlight on them. Anchor, in other words, a person who can sail the ship and I stick to this statement, an anchor is the one who can sail your ship to the port through the sea. I request you to substitute ship with event and sea with the audience in the above-mentioned sentence and read it again. To simplify the above example let me just say that an event is not possible without any anchor and the reason why I am saying this is that a flock of sheep cannot go anywhere or can go anywhere but not where the shepherd wanted them to go.
Anchors are the people who understand the flow of the event, prepare a script according to the event's flow, gets the idea of the audience they are facing, rehearse their scripts for 100 times, keep on editing their scripts till the very last moment and it is highly possible that they edit it on the stage and even after all this there are high chances of them facing abuse from the audience. You as an audience see these 2-3 people coming on the stage, shouting and modulating their voice to get your attention, to hype you for a few seconds, and then go off. Imagine the amount of creativity it needs to make the troll kids laugh with the audience, imagine the hard work they need to put in to just make sure that their audience does not go blank, imagine what it feels like to face 10000 people with the spotlight on you, imagine the confidence you need and if you are done imagining, have a look at these anchors once again, have a look at the art they possess once again and have a look at the art of anchoring.
To all the people out there who aspire to become an anchor, always remember this one thing that you have something which the thousands Infront of you do not have, you have an art and you are an artist. Keep anchoring and keep promoting this art. "Gali se khayali pulao banana hai".
