India to get Covid-19 vaccine shortly

According to a research, India has bought 160 crore covid-19 vaccine shots till now, which is the highest in the world. According to a global analysis, the vaccine could potentially cover about 60% of India’s population i.e., 800 million people, which will be enough to develop “herd immunity”,

The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) i.e., the National Regulatory Authority of India will review the applications submitted by the 3 leading covid-19 vaccine developers that have applied for emergency use authorization- Pfizer BionTech, AstraZeneca Plc (in partnership with Serum Institute of India), Bharat Biotech. The Hyderabad-based Bharat India has indigenously developed Covaxin in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). The Serum Institute of India as well as Bharat Biotech are presently conducting Phase 3 trials in India.

Pfizer has applied for permission to import its vaccine for sale and distribution without requiring the local clinic trials in India.

Covid-19 vaccinations may begin in India soon. According to the Health secretary, some vaccine makers will get licenses in the coming few weeks.

In India, another free download app Co-Win will be used for mass vaccinations and to monitor the process. In the first 2 phases, the priority groups will be vaccinated

About the Co-Win App:

the app consists of 5 modules:
