Fashion Comebacks

Some things are just too good to be put to rest, and good fashion is obviously something very difficult to let go of, which is why we find ourselves circling back to styles from the past that keeps inspiring designers to this day. There are a lot of styles that we watch from movies and TV shows from the 80s and 90s; styles that we adore just by looking at them, but are convinced will never come back. However, we’re proved wrong when we see the styles in markets again, making more revenue than ever. Some examples of fashion styles that have made a comeback are listed below.

1) Flared Pants

The Autumn/Winter 2019 runways were dominated by flared pants, bringing them back from the dead. High waisted, flared and groovy denim is the highlight of today’s fashion. The flared pants were a huge part of 70s fashion. Today, they are everywhere and can be found in most mainstream stores. You can pair with them up with crop tops, and you’re good to go!

2) Chokers

It was the most popular necklace trend of the 90s and recently made it’s comeback when people from every spectre, from schoolgirls at birthday parties (we all had that phase), to women trying to include just the perfect amount of edginess to their outfit, started wearing them.

3) Scrunchies

The trends are shifting back to soft and delicate scrunchies as tight rubber bands are slowly moving out of the picture. There are several reasons for this- less breakage of hair, no headaches from tight ponies, and no bends in the hair.

4) Chunky Sneakers

In the 90s, everyone had a pair of Levi’s sneakers, the chunkier the better. Today, designer brands like Yeezy and Gucci have brought back the trend by making chunkiest shoes ever seen.

5) Corduroy

The 70s was the decade of corduroy merchandise. However, corduroy’s use was limited to children’s clothing until recently when the trend was brought back. Corduroy jeans, jackets, purses and skirts are back in the game and are becoming increasingly popular.

6) Rimless Glasses

Rimless glasses were extremely popular back in the 1800s, almost two centuries ago! They have recently resurfaced, and are predicted to be the most famous eyewear trend ever seen. They display a contemporary look, adding a sense of intelligence and class to every outfit.

7) Psychedelic Florals

With bright and vibrant coloured florals, the trend of psychedelic florals from the 60s is set to come back to the spotlight. Classic and corporate wear has its own place in fashion, but this is going to be a fun blast from the past.
