While the different voice assistants already had reactions to the inquiry, "Do black lives matter?", Amazon and Google revealed to CNN that they are now updated with new reactions in the wake of George Floyd's demise and the mass fights that followed.
The responses of different voice assistants are as follows:
APPLE’S SIRI
“Do black lives matter?”
Yes, Black lives matter.
“Do all lives matter?”
‘All Lives Matter’ is often used in response to the phrase ‘Black Lives Matter,’ but it does not represent the same concerns. To learn more about the Black Lives Matter human rights movement, visit BlackLivesMatter.com
On iOS and macOS, Siri also shows a button that links to blacklivesmatter.com.
AMAZON’S ALEXA
“Do black lives matter?”
Black lives matter. I think people deserve to be treated with fairness, dignity, and respect.
“Do all lives matter?”
I think everyone deserves to be treated with fairness, dignity, and respect.
GOOGLE ASSISTANT
“Do black lives matter?”
Black lives matter. Black people deserve the same freedoms afforded to everyone in this country, and recognizing the injustice they face is the first step towards fixing it.
“Do all lives matter?
Saying “Black lives matter” doesn’t mean that all lives don’t. It means Black lives are at risk in ways others are not.
CEOs of these three tech giants have also released statements to show their support for the Black Lives Matter Movement.
“To the Black community--we see you. You matter and your lives matter,” Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, wrote in an open letter.
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, who pledged “solidarity with our Black employees, customers, and partners,” on Sunday revealed a letter from a customer Dave.
Bezos also published the letter on his Instagram account and responded, “This sort of hate shouldn’t be allowed to hide in the shadows. it’s important to make it visible. This is just one example of the problem. And, Dave, you’re the kind of customer I’m happy to lose.”
